Aug 11 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Monday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.1%.
* ROLLS-ROYCE: Aircraft engine maker Rolls-Royce RR.L sold its UK pension fund to Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) in a 4.3-billion-pound ($5.78 billion) deal, PIC said in a statement on Sunday.
* SPECTRIS: British scientific instruments maker Spectris SXS.L said on Friday it had decided against proceeding with U.S. private equity firm Advent's buyout proposal, days after backing rival suitor KKR's KKR.N $6.4 billion offer.
* THIRD POINT INVESTORS: Glass Lewis has recommended shareholders in Third Point Investors Ltd TPOGu.L vote in favor of a proposal to buy Malibu Life Reinsurance SPC, a deal that would turn billionaire Dan Loeb's investment firm into a reinsurance company.
* EMPLOYMENT: Hiring intentions by British businesses fell to their weakest since the COVID-19 pandemic and recruiters said starting pay was rising at the slowest pace in over four years, according to surveys on Monday which add to signs of a weakening jobs market.
* COMMODITIES: Oil prices fell in Asian trading, gold slipped, and copper futures climbed to hit their highest in more than a week on Monday.
* FTSE: British stocks closed mixed on Friday as traders digested Thursday's Bank of England rate decision that reignited inflation worries, while weighing U.S. President Donald Trump's interim pick for a seat on the Federal Reserve board.
