MannKind Corp rises on plans to begin lung disease drug study

** Shares of MannKind Corp  MNKD.O  rise 1.05% to $4.80  
    ** Drug developer says it will begin a mid- to late-stage
trial for its inhaled experimental drug to treat a type of lung
disease 
    ** The drug candidate, clofazimine inhalation suspension, is
being tested to treat nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM)
infection - MNKD
    ** NTM are bacteria found in dust, soil, and water that can
cause infections in different parts of the body including the
lungs, skin and blood 
    ** Delivering clofazimine to the lungs potentially overcomes
systemic toxicity, a drug's toxic effects on other organs, and
lessens side effects - MNKD 
    ** Including session moves, MNKD has risen ~26.5% in the
past 12 months
