Marker Therapeutics gains as FDA allows pancreatic cancer therapy trial

** Shares of Marker Therapeutics Inc  MRKR.O  rise ~18.2% to
39 cents before the bell 
    ** Co says U.S. FDA cleared its Investigational New Drug
(IND) application, enabling it to initiate a clinical trial for
its pancreatic cancer therapy, MT-601 
    ** MRKR intends to initiate early-stage trial for MT-601 in
combination with front-line chemotherapy next year
    ** FDA granted MT-601 "orphan drug" designation in January 
    ** U.S. health regulator's orphan drug status is given to
drugs that treat rare conditions and are protected through a
series of government incentives after launch
    ** Up to Monday's close, stock was down 65.3% YTD
