Oct 13 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.4%.
* BP: BP BP.L expects to report $3 billion to $4.5 billion of impairments in third-quarter results, relating to its gas and low-carbon energy segment, the oil major said.
* WHITBREAD: Whitbread WTB.L backed its five-year turnaround plan and recommended its shareholders vote against activist investor Corvex Management's demand for a board seat.
* BELLWAY: Bellway BWY.L said it expects fiscal 2027 underlying operating margins to reduce further, squeezed by lower completions, rising mortgage rates and cost pressures amid the Middle East conflict.
* MICHAEL PAGE: Michael Page PAGE.L said it returned to growth in the third quarter, delivering its first increase in gross profit since 2022 as improving conditions in the Americas and Asia Pacific offset weakness in Europe.
* SHELL: Energy major Shell SHEL.L on Tuesday criticised the Australian government's plan to force liquefied natural gas producers to reserve a portion of their output for domestic use, calling it a "sledgehammer to crack a nut" for an already functional market.
* CONSUMERS: British consumers kept a lid on spending in September, with much of their extra outlay going on fuel, while warm weather helped pubs but hurt clothing sales, according to surveys published.
* IMF: The International Monetary Fund's upward revision to its forecast for British economic growth this year adds to signs that Bank of England interest rates are not very restrictive, BoE policymaker Megan Greene said.
* COMMODITIES: Oil prices fell, gold ticked up, and copper prices held nearly steady.
