** Gold explorer identifies high-grade gold at Devon Pit mine in Western Australia

** Stock adds ~44% in value so far this week; set for best week since early August, 2012

** About 4.6 mln shares traded vs 30-day avg of ~1.5 mln

** Stock tracks broader rally in mining sub-index .AXMM, which is up 1.4%

** MAT last up 12.5%, surges 285.71% YTD
