Lender's Q1 net profit seen at 622 mln zlotys
GDANSK, April 25 (Reuters) - Commerzbank's CBKG.DE Polish unit, mBank MBK.WA, is expected to post a first-quarter net profit of 622 million zlotys ($165.45 million), a Reuters poll showed on Friday, compared to a net profit of 262.5 million zlotys reported last year.
Analysts forecast a quarterly decline of about 3% in net interest income, driven by fewer number of days compared with those in 2024, which was a leap year, and the adverse effects from loans denominated in euros.
In March, mBank estimated the first-quarter cost of legal risk related to foreign currency loans at 643.5 million zlotys, down from 1.06 billion zlotys a year earlier.
