SUBMARINES

The Polish Ministry of Defense has sent a preliminary draft contract to Sweden's Saab SAABb.ST for the purchase of three submarines. Negotiations are scheduled to begin in March, and the contract is planned to be signed in June, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

AMERICAN TROOPS IN POLAND

U.S. Ambassador to Poland Thomas Rose said that American troops would remain in Poland unless Poland, for some "incredibly stupid" reasons, decided it no longer wanted them, Rzeczpospolita reported.

BANKS' RESULTS

Poland's mBank MBK.WA expects 2026 to be a year of stable financial performance, with a focus on expanding its market share, its finance head said on Tuesday, as Polish lenders brace for further cuts in interest rates.

AMMUNITION PRODUCTION

Polish arms group Niewiadow-PGM GNSP.WA said on Tuesday it had signed a framework deal with U.S. defence supplier Northrop Grumman NOC.N on producing artillery ammunition in Poland.

INTEREST RATES

Polish central banker Henryk Wnorowski reiterated that an interest rate cut in March is likely, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
