Medical Properties jumps on Utah hospitals stake sale

** Shares of Medical Properties Trust  MPW.N  jump 16.3% to
$4.64 premarket after co said it would sell majority of its
stake in five Utah hospitals
    ** Healthcare REIT late Fri said sold 75% of its stake to
newly formed JV
    ** Along with the sale, the JV placed new non-recourse
secured financing, providing $190 mln additional cash to MPW
    ** Through Fri, MPW's stock has lost ~19% YTD and about half
its value over the past 12 months
