Teva Pharma rises after positive late-stage trial data for schizophrenia drug

** U.S.-listed shares of Israeli drugmaker Teva Pharmaceuticals TEVA.TA, TEVA.N rise 5.8% to $19.42

** TEVA and French partner Medincell say new late-stage data for their once‑monthly experimental shot olanzapine to treat schizophrenia showed no cases of a rare post‑injection sedation event through 56 weeks

** Teva and Medincell plan to proceed with regulatory submission in Q4 2025

** The study enrolled adults with schizophrenia, a mental health condition that affects how people think, feel and behave and may result in a mix of hallucinations, delusions and disorganized thinking and behavior

** There were no suspected or confirmed cases of post‑injection delirium/sedation syndrome during the study, a safety issue linked to earlier long‑acting olanzapine shots, the companies say

** Overall safety looked in line with other forms of olanzapine and side effects were reported by 74% of participants; 8% stopped treatment due to side effects and 6% had serious side effects

** Including session's move, TEVA stock was down 11.9% YTD
