** Shares of gene therapy firm MeiraGTx Holdings MGTX.O rise 11.5% to $9.44 premarket

** Company announces a strategic collaboration with Eli Lilly LLY.N to develop gene therapies for eye diseases

** Lilly gains exclusive global rights to MeiraGTx's gene therapy program targeting LCA4, a rare inherited eye disease caused by AIPL1 gene deficiency

** MeiraGTx will receive an upfront payment of $75 million and will be eligible to receive over $400 million in total milestone payments

** As of last close, stock up 39.1% YTD
