Brazil antitrust body orders deeper delivery review after Keeta setback

Brazil antitrust body orders deeper delivery review after Keeta setback

- A tribunal at Brazil's antitrust watchdog Cade on Wednesday rejected an appeal by food delivery company Keeta against exclusivity clauses that rival 99 holds with restaurants, but ordered further investigation into the sector.

The ruling comes as Keeta and 99, both owned by Chinese groups, moved to expand in Brazil, challenging market leader iFood.

  • Cade's interim head cited the need to examine restaurants affected by 99's partial exclusivity clauses and analyze more complaints involving other players.

  • Keeta, controlled by China's Meituan 3690.HK, entered Brazil last year while 99, owned by China's Didi Global 92Sy.D, resumed delivery operations in 2025.

  • Last week, iFood, controlled by Dutch investment group Prosus PRX.AS, filed a complaint with Cade accusing Keeta of predatory pricing.

  • 99 said it was confident in the legitimacy of its practices.

  • Keeta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
