WARSAW, April 14 - The following are news stories, press
reports and events that may affect Poland's financial markets on
Wednesday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 2 hour): 
    
    PKN ORLEN
    The decision of a court to suspend antitrust approval of the
takeover of Polska Press by PKN Orlen is not open to appeal, but
if the government camp appointed a new human rights ombudsman,
he could withdraw the appeal against the decision of the
president of the competition watchdog, Gazeta Wyborcza daily
reported.
    
    SHOPS
    Owners of shops in shopping centres had planned to launch
legal action against the government for forcing them to close to
stop the spread of COVID-19, but they changed their mind after
the government announced it was lauching a scheme under which
their rents would be cut by 80% during the lockdown, Puls
Biznesu daily reported.
    
    VACCINATION
    At the moment, about 40% of Poles over 60 are vaccinated,
Health Minister Adam Niedzielski told Rzeczpospolita daily. In
order to have more easing of restrictions, it should be above
70%, he said.
    
    WIND POWER
    As a result of auctions carried out in 2018-2020, 4.2
gigawatts of new wind power generation capacity will be added,
Rzrczpospolita daily reported.
    
    HOUSE PRICES
    In the coming year, house prices could go up by a further
3-8%, according to a report by Emmerson Evaluation cited by
Rzeczpospolita.
    
    VERCOM
    Polish IT company Vercom, which will debut on the Warsaw
stock exchange in May, is planning to spend up to 250 million
zlotys on acquisitions in the CEE region, Puls Biznesu daily
reported.
    
    SWISS-FRANC MORTGAGES
    The first quarter of 2021 saw a record number of lawsuits
concerning Swiss franc mortgages, Parkiet daily reported.
    
    MERCATOR MEDICAL
    Medical glove maker Mercator Medical is looking for
acquisition targets both in Europe and elsewhere, management
board member Witold Kruszewski told Parkiet daily.
