Methanex gains on quarterly dividend jump

** Shares in methanol producer Methanex  MX.TO  rise 5.2% to
C$47.20
    ** The board authorized a 20% increase in quarterly dividend
to $0.175 per share, said Methanex after markets closed on
Thursday
    ** Methanex also said the increase would apply to the
dividend payable on Sept. 30 to holders of common shares as of 
Sept. 16
    ** As of March 31, Methanex had cash balance of $1.1 billion
and $600 million of undrawn backup liquidity
    ** MX shares have declined nearly 6% this year
