Final Commissioning of Qatar Project

 

Successful completion of 24/7 smart city water quality monitoring

 

Metir plc (AIM: MET), the leading global provider of fast response mobile and
point-of-use water and environmental testing technology, is pleased to
announce the successful commissioning of its project in Qatar, delivered for
the state water authority Kahramaa, in partnership with Avanceon Limited
("Avanceon").

 

The project, which deploys Continuous Toxicity Monitors ("CTMs") located
within the city's local water pumping station network, now provides a large
part of Doha with round-the-clock monitoring of toxins in its potable water.
Following successful completion of all performance testing, the system has
transitioned into full operation in line with contractual obligations and
technical specifications. The Company therefore expects to receive the balance
of the project payment of £198,000 according to the terms of the contract in
stage payments and the total no later than 60 days from this date.

 

The installation of the CTM network gives the city of Doha the confidence that
it has the unique capability to constantly monitor the quality of its potable
water with the most effective early warning system to detect the presence of
toxins harmful to human health. The system is automatic, with water samples
tested every few seconds at the last point before delivery to the local
pipeline network, as opposed to delays caused by site periodic sampling and
laboratory analysis.

 

The Company's CTM technology is proprietary and unique in the water testing
sector, scientifically proven to be capable of alerting authorities to
thousands of different water contaminants and toxins.

 

The Board view this technology as a significant future revenue and value
driver for the Company and will be evaluating various countries, regions and
different sectors to replicate this project in other cities and industrial
sites as part of its business development for this product line.
