ATHENS, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Greece's privatisation
agency HRADF on Thursday named GEK Terna HRMr.AT as the
preferred bidder in a tender for a 25-year concession to operate
a major Athens toll road.
GEK Terna has offered 3.27 billion euros ($3.49 billion) to
operate the 70-km (44-mile) Attica Motorway ring road after
2024, the highest price among six bidders.
A consortium of Vinci SGEF.PA , Mytilineos MYTr.AT and
Mobility Partner was the second highest bidder, offering 3.1
billion euros.
Under the terms of the tender, GEK Terna will need to show
that it has secured financing for the deal, otherwise the Vinci
consortium will win the tender, a privatisation agency official
said.
Greek construction groups Ellaktor HELr.AT and Avax
AVAr.AT will operate the ring road until 2024.
