    THE GLOBE AND MAIL
    ** Grocery retailer Metro  MRU.TO  has accused competitor
Loblaw  L.TO  and its parent company of misleading law
enforcement and the Canadian public, by claiming an
"industry-wide" scheme existed to fix bread prices for more than
a decade.
    
    ** The Liberal government declined to act on the
recommendations made by a group of opposition MPs on access to
information, privacy and ethics, a second time in less than a
year.

    ** French private equity company Ardian SAS is opening its
first office in Canada to tap what it says is fertile ground for
