** Shares of Metropolitan Bank Holding  MCB.N  rise 18.3% to $36.4 in premarket trading,
following quarterly results
    ** Co posts Q1 EPS of $2.25, beating analyst est. of $1.79- Refinitiv IBES data 
    ** Revenue for the quarter rose 21.2% to $65.5 mln from a year ago
    ** Q1 net interest income jumped 25.5% to $58.5 mln, from same period last year
    ** Quarterly net income was $25.1 mln, an increase of 31.8% from a year ago
    ** Up to last close, stock had fallen 47.5% YTD
