Tariff talks, weak pulp demand hit Metsa Board in Q2, shares drop

** Shares in Metsa Board METSB.HE fall 6% after the Finnish forestry firm warned of an operating fall in Q2, citing an impact from talks over tariffs in the U.S. and weak pulp market

** Metsa expects Q2 comparable operating loss of about 25 million euros ($29.38 million); in April it said it expected the number to be weaker than the profit of 23 million euros booked for Q1

** It cites weak demand for pulp both in Europe and in China, and says uncertainty over the tariffs affected the purchasing behaviour of its clients

** Finnish peer Stora Enso STERV.HE falls 2.5%, UPM-Kymmene UPM.HE is down 1%

($1 = 0.8510 euros)
