U.S. stocks rose for a second day on Wednesday, as investors
snapped up beaten-down technology favorites and strong results
for General Motors and a host of other companies lifted spirits
at the end of a torrid month for global equities.  .N 
    At 1307 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up
1.35 percent at 25,210.04. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 1.60
percent at 2,725.49 and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was up 2.40
percent at 7,333.881.
