** Stock last up 5.6%

** Natural stone and mining co selected as lead partner for rare-earth elements pilot plant project by Kerala government

** Project involves processing monazite-rich tailings into rare-earth mixed compounds and downstream separation of rare-earth elements

** Co did not disclose project's financial value or expected investment details

** Trading vols at 139,295 shares, more than 3.5x the 30-day average

** YTD, MIDW down 23.5%
