       Oct 9 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1330 GMT on Monday:

        ** A unit of Prosperity Life Group agreed to buy life
insurer National Western Life Group  NWLI.O  in a deal valued at
$1.9 billion, the companies said.

    ** Belgium's Euronav  EUAV.BR  said that its two major
shareholders CMB and Frontline  FRO.OL  have reached a deal
which would see CMB take control of the oil tanker company and
buy its remaining shares.

    ** U.S.-based buyout fund Apollo Global Management is
readying a bid with local fund JB Capital for the Spanish unit
of telecom giant Vodafone  VOD.L , the Expansion newspaper
reported citing unidentified sources with knowledge of the
matter.

    ** The maker of Ketel One vodka has launched a
management-backed offer to buy Dutch gin and spirits maker Lucas
Bols  BOLS.AS  for 269.5 million euros ($284.51 million), the
companies said.

    ** Citigroup Inc  C.N  said  it had agreed to sell its China
consumer wealth portfolio, including clients, assets under
management and deposits, to Asia-focused HSBC Holdings Plc

    ** Bristol-Myers Squibb  BMY.N  said it will acquire cancer
drugmaker Mirati Therapeutics  MRTX.O  for up to $5.8 billion,
diversifying its oncology business and adding drugs it hopes can
help offset expected lost revenue from patent expirations later
this decade.

    ** British specialist lender Shawbrook made an offer for
rival Co-op Bank and is weighing a fresh bid for embattled Metro
Bank  MTRO.L , people familiar with the matter told Reuters.
