India's MMTC, State Trading rise on report of potential merger

** MMTC Ltd shares  MMTC.NS  climb as much as 10 pct to 60
rupees; State Trading Corp of India Ltd shares  STCI.NS  rise as
much as 5 pct to 142.85 rupees 
    ** Commerce and industry minister Suresh Prabhu says merger

 on the cards and the matter is under process - local daily Mint
reports, citing PTI
    ** MMTC, STCI were not immediately available for comment
    ** More than STCI 89,000 shares traded, 1.4 times their
30-day moving avg
    ** Up to Friday's close, STCI stock had fallen 28 pct this
year, while MMTC stock lost 25.6 pct
