Jan 29 (Reuters) - Polish footwear retailer CCC CCC.WA late on Wednesday cut its 2025 core profit forecast to between 1.43 billion and 1.47 billion zlotys ($358-$368 million), down from an earlier estimate of 1.7-1.8 billion.
The company blamed the cut on a revenue shortfall in the fourth quarter, with sales coming in about 500 million zlotys below assumptions due to negative like-for-like sales and slower e-commerce growth.
"The published earnings estimates are a strongly negative surprise, especially since the management board revised its full-year expectations in early November" - said Erste Group analyst Piotr Bogusz in a note.
The retailer's gross margin dropped approximately 2 percentage points compared to its projections as it ramped up promotional activity.
One-off events, including inventory write-offs and currency effects, negatively impacted the result by around 65 million zlotys, company said.
Looking to 2026, the retailer predicted improved results driven by a 28% expansion in retail space and anticipated cost leverage, while maintaining its share buyback plans.
