Hungary's MOL granted extension to negotiate purchase of Russian-owned NIS oil firm BUDAPEST, June 17 (Reuters) - Hungary's oil company MOL MOLB.BU was granted a license from the U.S. Department of Treasury to continue negotiations on the purchase of the majority of shares in Russian-owned oil firm Nis until 1 July 2026, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
MOL signed an agreement in January to buy the combined 51.56% stake held by Gazprom Neft SIBN.MM and Gazprom GAZP.MM, pending approval from the U.S. Treasury.
