Aug 7 (Reuters) - A fire broke out at Slovakia's Slovnaft refinery in Bratislava on Friday after a storage tank containing an oil product was damaged, the company said.
No injuries were reported and firefighters brought the fire under control, Slovnaft said.
"The situation has stabilised. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently underway," Slovnaft, owned by Hungary's MOL Group, said in an emailed statement.
Slovnaft said there was no immediate risk to nearby residents. A spokesperson for the fire and rescue service could not be immediately reached for comment.
Media images showed dark smoke coming from the refinery, while TV Markiza said witnesses had heard a loud bang in the surrounding area, rattling nearby windows.
