Molecular Templates down after FDA's partial clinical hold on cancer therapy trial

** Shares of drug developer Molecular Templates Inc  MTEM.O 
fall 2.3% to $0.42 premarket
    ** Late on Friday, co said U.S. FDA has placed partial
clinical hold on an early-stage study of its experimental cancer
therapy MT-0169, based on previously disclosed cardiac adverse
events
    ** Cardiac adverse events had been noted in two patients
dosed at 50 mcg/kg that prompted the dose reduction to 5 mcg/kg
last year - MTEM
    ** FDA has asked co to "provide narratives" on two patients
who experienced cardiotoxicity at 50 mcg/kg dose, justification
for the revised dose of 5 mcg/kg
    ** Co adds FDA also asked data evaluating clinical
benefit-to-risk ratio seen with the lower doses of MT-0169,
among other requests
    ** MTEM shares up ~31% this year, as of last close
