MorphoSys rises on 'encouraging' interim data from cancer drug trial

** Shares of MorphoSys  MORG.DE  are up 3.3% in early
Frankfurt trade after the German biotech group presented interim
data on its leading drug candidate Pelabresib in myelofibrosis
at an industry conference on Wednesday
    ** A local trader says the presentation appears to have
shown encouraging results
    ** The company said on Monday it expected topline data from
the ongoing Phase 3 study in early 2024
    ** Myelofibrosis is a rare type of bone marrow cancer that
disrupts the body's normal production of blood cells
    ** The MorphoSys stock is seen at the top of the German
small-cap index  .SDAXI  before the bell
