U.S. stocks extended earlier losses on Wednesday after the minutes of the
Federal Reserve's July monetary policy meeting showed officials were divided
over the need for more interest rate hikes.  .N 
    
    At 13:31 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.29% at
34,844.59. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.41% at 4,419.5 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was down 0.72% at 13,532.639.
