The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq inched up amid volatile trading on Wednesday, as
investors assessed a downward revision in U.S. payrolls data and awaited the
release of minutes from the Federal Reserve's latest policy meeting.  .N 
    
    At 11:42 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.07% at
40,863.72. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.25% at 5,610.93 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.24% at 17,859.535.
