Naturgy appoints former Italian PM Letta as board member

Naturgy appoints former Italian PM Letta as board member

- Spanish power company Naturgy NTGY.MC on Thursday appointed former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta as an independent board member as part of a wider reshuffle of its board of directors.

  • The board also agreed to abolish reinforced majority voting, so decisions will now be taken by ordinary majority, Naturgy said in a statement.

  • Letta, of Italy's centre-left Democratic Party, led a coalition government for eight months in 2013-2014.

  • He had previously served as minister of Industry in Italy and member of the European Parliament.

  • Spain's former Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez also once served as an independent board member at the company, when it was still known by its previous name, Gas Natural Fenosa.
