** Shares of drug developer Nektar Therapeutics NKTR.O more than double to $25 premarket

** Co's experimental drug rezpegaldesleukin met the main goal of reducing severity of disease and itching in patients with a skin disorder known as moderate to severe atopic dermatitis or eczema in a mid-stage trial

** Eczema is a chronic skin condition that causes inflammation, redness and intense itching

** The mid-stage trial included 393 patients who were administered the experimental drug over a period of 52 weeks and the results were compared with placebo

** As of last close, NKTR stock down 31.6% YTD
