** Shares of the energy explorer  NRZ.AX  jump as much as
9.1% to A$0.175, their biggest intraday pct gain since April 20
    ** Co says Australia's no. 2 independent gas producer Santos
 STO.AX  will farm in and take operatorship of Queensland's
Cooper Basin oil and gas permit from Bridgeport Energy Pty Ltd

    ** Says Santos will earn a 50% interest and operate a three
well gas exploration program targeting specific gas play
formations 
    ** Adds co's unit has satisfied its earning obligations
under the farm-in deal for a 20% participating interest in

decrease in the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index  .AXJO
