** U.S.-listed shares of New Gold Inc  NGD.TO  rise 4.1% to
$1.01 premarket 
    ** Co resumes mining activities at its new Afton gold-copper
mine in Kamloops, British Columbia, after confirming the
structural integrity of the tailings storage facility
    ** NGD shares listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange fell 7.7%
on Thursday after co suspended underground mining activities at
the mine
    ** Up to Thursday's close, stock had fallen 1% YTD
