India's Newgen Software hits record high on Q4 profit jump

** Shares of Newgen Software Technologies  NEWG.NS  rise as
much as 10.7% to a record high of 959 rupees
    ** Co reports 31.7% Y/Y rise in March-qtr consolidated net
profit; while rev from ops up 23%
    ** NEWG also recommends final dividend of 4 rupees per share
    ** Stock on track for seventh consecutive session of gain if
trends hold
    ** More than 1.6 mln shares change hands by 1:10 p.m. IST,
6.8x the 30-day avg; busiest day yet since March 15
    ** Including session's gains, stock up 22.4% YTD
