Australia's NEXTDC unveils 100‑year hybrid securities funding

April 7 (Reuters) - Australia's NEXTDC NXT.AX launched a A$1 billion hybrid securities offer with a 100-year maturity on Tuesday, an unusual structure in Australia and Asia, as booming demand for data centres fuels investor appetite for long-dated infrastructure assets.

The subordinated, non-convertible securities are backed by a firm A$1 billion ($691.70 million) commitment from Canada's La Caisse, giving the data centre operator long-term funding for its expansion plans through the 2029 financial year without issuing new shares.

The securities can be redeemed after five years and rank below senior debt, the company said.

Shares of NEXTDC jumped as much as 14.3% to A$12.87, on track for its best day in about seven months and outperforming a 2.5% rise in the benchmark index .AXJO.
