Australian tech stocks jump after strong Amazon, Alphabet earnings

** Shares of Australian tech stocks .AXIJ rose as much as 2.6%, logging their best trading day since April 16

** Sub-index tracks positive results from Amazon AMZN.O and Alphabet GOOGL.O

** "These positive results (AMZN & GOOGL) more than offset a disappointing update from Meta" - Tony Sycamore, senior market analyst at IG Markets

** Sector giant WiseTech WTC.AX gains over 4%, among the top gainers on broader ASX200 benchmark index .AXJO, which is down as of 0544 GMT

** ASX-listed Xero XRO.AX rises 0.5% while NEXTDC NXT.AX adds 1.3%

** AXIJ down nearly 19% this year, including the day's move
