** Shares of Canadian mine  NDM.TO  plunge 55.7% to C$0.47
    ** Co says U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) rejected
subsidiary Pebble Limited Partnership's application for permits
under the Clean Water Act and other federal statutes

    ** USACE in Alaska said the agency would block Pebble Mine
because it determined that the plan Pebble Limited Partnership
submitted to deal with the project's waste did not comply with
the Clean Water Act guidelines
    ** USACE concluded the proposed project is contrary to
public interest
    ** NDM says Pebble Partnership will lodge an appeal with the
USACE within the 60-day window provided for it to do so
