Novartis experimental drug for ALS fails, Bloomberg News reports Sept 16 (Reuters) - Novartis NOVN.S halted development of an experimental drug it hoped would treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday.
The mid-stage trial was discontinued after the medicine failed to show it worked better than a dummy drug in delaying disease progression, Novartis confirmed in an emailed statement to Bloomberg.
