Novocure gains as therapy succeeds in late-stage pancreatic cancer study

** Shares of cancer therapy maker Novocure  NVCR.O  jump
~25% to $25.02 in premarket trade 
    ** Co says its cancer therapy helped extend the lives of
patients with a form of advanced pancreatic cancer when combined
with chemotherapy in a late-stage study 
    ** Treatment with NVCR's therapy and chemotherapy helped
patients live for an average of 16.20 months, compared to 14.16
months for those treated with only chemotherapy 
    ** NVCR says its therapy, which uses electric fields to kill
cancer cells while sparing most nearby healthy cells, also
improved survival rates of patients over time
    ** NVCR's therapy, branded as Optune Gio and Optune Lua, is
approved for treating a type of lung cancer, a type of cancer
that starts in the brain and spinal cord and another rare cancer
    ** As of last close, NVCR was up 34% YTD
