** Shares of United Kingdom-based drug developer NuCana
NCNA.O fall 41.01% to $4.56 after the bell
** Co says its mid-stage study is being discontinued
following a pre-planned initial analysis and recommendation from
a committee
** The committee believed that the combination of
experimental cancer drug NUC-3373 with other cancer drugs was
unlikely to achieve the study's main goal of superior
progression-free survival compared to the control arm
** NUC-3373 is being developed for patients with colorectal
cancer and other solid tumors
** The results of the study do not impact the other ongoing
study, in which NUC-3373 is being tested in patients with lung
cancer - NCNA
** Stock up ~5% YTD
