Potash and salt miner K+S reports slight revenue beat for Q1 (updated)

Adds details on pre-announced numbers, potash prices and peer results in bullet point summary.

May 11 (Reuters) - K+S SDFGn.DE reported revenue above market expectations for the first quarter on Monday, as the German potash and salt miner benefited from higher demand for de-icing salt and higher potash prices.

The Hessian-based company's revenue was 1.06 billion euros ($1.25 billion) between January and March, slightly above analysts' expectations that saw it at 1.04 billion euros according to a consensus poll by Vara Research.

K+S had pre-released most of its Q1 numbers and raised the yearly outlook in April, as its core profit also beat expectations

Potash prices climbed to more than $380 a metric ton by the end of the quarter, versus historic lows of below $280 a ton seen in late 2024

Canadian peer Nutrien NTR.TO and Norway's Yara YAR.OL have also reported better-than-expected results on the back of higher fertilizer prices
