OHB establishes new company to develop launch site infrastructure

Nov 11 (Reuters) - German satellite maker OHB SE OHBG.DE on Tuesday announced the establishment of a new company called the "European Spaceport Company," aimed at developing launch site infrastructure. The plan for the new entity, which would consolidate OHB's in-house expertise, comes after the company said that plans for a new European satellite giant led by Airbus AIR.PA pose a threat to its business. The new launch site project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the company said in a statement.
