Australia's Omega Oil and Gas rises after Queensland awards Taroom Trough land

** Shares of Omega Oil and Gas OMA.AX rise as much as 18.6% to A$0.51, their biggest intraday pct gain since September 2, 2025

** Omega Oil says the Queensland government awarded 750 square kilometres of land in Taroom Trough to a joint venture led by the Australian company

** The JV comprises Omega Oil, Tri-Star E&P, and Beach Energy BPT.AX

** Adds that all gas produced from land to be sold in the domestic market

** OMA shares down 1.1% in January
