UPDATE 1-OMV says windfall taxes, Middle East shipping disruptions dented Q3 earnings Recast with details on windfall taxes and Middle East in paragraphs 1-2 and bullet point 1, adds chemicals business comment and share performance in bullet points 4-5.
Oct 9 (Reuters) - Austrian oil and gas group OMV OMVV.VI said on Friday it expected windfall taxes in Austria and Romania to reduce its reported net income by between €150 million and €200 million ($169 million and $225 million) in the third quarter, while a lack of shipments from the Middle East also affected the results.
Lingering disruptions to global oil and fuel flows caused by the US-Israeli war with Iran have spurred oil analysts to raise their average Brent crude oil price forecasts for 2026, although they have noted signs of a gradual improvement in export flows from the Middle East.
No third-quarter shipments from the Middle East caused a setback of €100 million to the energy division's operating income
OMV recorded average natural gas prices 30.2% higher in the third quarter than in the second quarter
Its average realised crude oil price fell to $93.60 per barrel in the July-September period from $97.80 in the second quarter
A "considerably weaker" market environment across regions weighed on the group's chemicals division, where it expects significantly lower operating profit quarter-on-quarter
OMV's share price has gained around 50% in value since January
