another reading on the health of the U.S. consumer- and a possible insight
into an economy that’s proving more resilient than many expected. And - with
earnings season under way, big banks including Goldman Sachs and Bank of
America both report on Tuesday, followed by streaming giant Netflix on
Thursday.  Those, too could offer a further snapshot of the consumer. John
