April 22 (Reuters) - Orange Polska OPL.WA, the Polish arm of French telecoms group Orange ORAN.PA, on Wednesday maintained its full-year guidance for low single-digit percentage growth in both revenue and core profit while posting better-than expected first-quarter results.
Orange Polska is Poland's largest telecoms operator, where it competes with players such as Cyfrowy Polsat CPS.WA.
"Taking into account the results achieved in the first quarter, we are convinced that despite the demanding and unstable market environment, we will achieve our full-year goals", CEO Liudmila Climoc said in a press release
The company reported a first-quarter net profit of 295 million zlotys ($81 million), up 55% year-on-year and above analysts' expectations for a profit of 253 million zlotys
The beat was driven by core earnings growth and real estate sales
The company's core profit (EBITDAaL) stood at 913 million zlotys, compared with a forecast of 879 million
Revenue of 3.18 billion zlotys came in below a forecast of 3.20 billion zlotys
($1 = 3.6206 zlotys)
