Australia's Origin Energy posts 22% drop in full-year profit
Australia's Origin Energy posts 22% drop in full-year profit Aug 13 (Reuters) - Australia's Origin Energy ORG.AX reported a 22% drop in its full-year underlying profit on Thursday, as lower oil-linked earnings at its APLNG project in Queensland and weak LNG trading gains offset higher earnings at its energy markets division.
The country's second-largest power producer reported underlying profit of A$1.16 billion ($818.96 million) for the year ended June 30, below A$1.49 billion a year ago but slightly ahead of the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of A$1.14 billion.
