    ** Canadian miner Orla Mining  OLA.TO  said it will buy the
Musselwhite gold mine in Ontario from Denver-based Newmont
 NEM.N  for up to $850 million.
    
    ** Manulife Financial  MFC.TO  said that its Chief Executive
Officer Roy Gori will retire, effective May 8, 2025. The
Canadian insurer's Asia head Phil Witherington will assume the
CEO role and join Manulife's board upon Gori’s retirement.
