** Shares of drug developer Oruka Therapeutics ORKA.O jump 20.22% to 8-month high of $17.91

** Stock is set for its best day since August 2024, if gains hold

** Company says its experimental drug, ORKA-001, was well tolerated with a favorable safety profile consistent for the treatment of chronic skin diseases, including plaque psoriasis, in interim early-stage trial data

** Psoriasis is a non-contagious autoimmune disease causing the immune system to overact, resulting in rapid skin cell growth and thick, scaly, red or purple patches called plaques

** Company expects mid-stage study data in H2 2026

** ORKA-001 is an injectable, long-acting antibody designed to block IL-23p19, a protein linked to inflammation

** Including session moves, stock down 8.4% YTD
