Shares in the bank closed up by more than 12% on Tuesday
after it posted a record quarterly profit and pledged to return
5.25 billion euros ($5.69 billion) from its 2022 earnings, as
CEO Andrea Orcel works to deliver on his ambitious payout plans.
ENEL ENEI.MI
Italy is considering replacements for Francesco Starace as
chief executive of the country's biggest utility as key
government figures are unhappy with him, three political sources
told Reuters on Tuesday.
Terna TRN.MI CEO Stefano Donnarumma and Flavio Cattaneo,
deputy chairman of high-speed rail firm NTV and former head of
Terna and Telecom Italia TLIT.MI , are among those shortlisted
to succeed Starace.
STELLANTIS STLA.MI
The carmaker expects to have in place by the end of this
year the technologies needed to develop ethanol hybrid vehicles
in Brazil, its top manager for South America, Antonio Filosa,
said on Tuesday.
OVS OVS.MI
The Italian clothing retailer said on Tuesday it had called
off talks to acquire rival group Coin, and reported 420 million
euros in net sales for the three months to the end of January,
and of more than 1.5 billion euros for the whole financial year.
The company also said it expects sales growth to continue in
2023, and sees respite from rising prices.

Electric motor components maker EuroGroup Laminations
starts IPO; ends on Feb. 8.
